Warehouse Voice Industry Veteran Jennifer Lachenman Joins Lucas Systems As VP Product Strategy And Business Alliances
Lucas Systems, Inc., the largest independent provider of voice-directed warehouse applications, today announced that Jennifer Lachenman has joined the company as Vice President of Product Strategy and Business Alliances. In this new role, Lachenman will apply her 10 years of voice industry experience to drive product leadership and expansion of the Jennifer™ VoicePlus product portfolio. Lachenman joins Lucas from Psion, where she headed the company’s voice practice in North America. Prior to Psion she held senior product management roles with Rosetta Stone and Vocollect, Inc., a division of Intermec.
“I am excited to join Lucas Systems at this inflection point in the company’s and industry’s growth,” said Lachenman. “Voice-directed warehouse solutions are at a tipping point due to several intersecting business and technology trends, many of which were driven by Lucas Systems. For more than a decade Lucas has been known for pushing the envelope with voice, from introducing voice-directed receiving, put-away and other non-picking applications, to delivering the first voice picking applications for standard Windows Mobile computers from Motorola and other vendors. More recently, Lucas raised the bar in voice technology with the introduction of Serenade, a truly unique technology that offers the world’s best recognition performance for the warehouse. I am inspired by how Lucas drives innovation while always maintaining a resolute focus on the success of their customers. I look forward to leading the company’s strategy to accelerate the introduction of next-generation voice products and solutions, and in identifying and penetrating new markets beyond the four walls of the warehouse.”
Prior to joining Lucas, Lachenman was responsible for managing the North American voice practice of Psion, a leading provider of rugged mobile handheld computers. Earlier in her career she spent nine years with Vocollect, Inc., where she held multiple roles including a senior product management role responsible for the company’s voice software product line.
“Jenn Lachenman brings unique knowledge and talent to this new role in Lucas, a role that is critical to our continued expansion,” says Rick Brown, President and CEO of Lucas Systems. “In the past three years we have seen double-digit increases in sales and profits, despite the recession. More recently, we have been building a network of strategic partners and laid the groundwork for global expansion with new voice implementations in Asia, Australia, and Europe. Jenn’s role is critical in helping us to meet the challenges of growth and expansion, both within our traditional warehouse and distribution center market and in new vertical markets.”
