Smartphone-Based App Extends Jennifer VoicePlus

Lucas Systems Introduces Mobile Engage 2.0. Management Alerts are Delivered to a Mobile Browser Giving Supervisors Real-Time Production Information on the Warehouse Floor

Lucas Systems, Inc., the largest independent provider of voice-directed warehouse applications, today announced the second-generation of Mobile Engage, a mobile application designed to give managers real-time process updates via a Smartphone or industrial PDA. Mobile Engage 2.0 extends the Web-based intelligence, reporting and management alerts available in the Jennifer VoicePlus System to managers using a Smartphone or PDA. Mobile Engage is available as an add-on to existing Jennifer VoicePlus systems.

Mobile Engage, first introduced in 2009, extends the Web-based reporting, management and configuration tools of Jennifer’s Engage Management Service Console (MSC) to a mobile device using a standard mobile Web browser, including iPhone and Android devices. With Mobile Engage, managers can view work status across a DC, monitor associate productivity, view and manage exceptions (shorts, etc.), and access other management information and alerts available in the standard Web-based Engage MSC.

“Mobile Engage allows supervisors and managers to get out on the warehouse floor without losing touch with what’s happening elsewhere in the operation,” says Chris Sweeney, Senior Vice President of Lucas Systems. “For the past decade we have been adding more powerful reporting and management tools to Jennifer, helping managers to better plan and manage their operations through the Web-based Engage MSC. Mobile Engage is a natural extension of this, pushing real-time business intelligence to mobile devices. This seemingly small addition to an existing voice system can drive big improvements in management efficiency and effectiveness.”
