Position Summary

The Senior Software Product Manager drives the product roadmap for Lucas Systems by gathering customer input; tracking market trends; working with Sales team members to understand key market dynamics, challenges and opportunities; and working with Engineering to ensure product viability and on-time delivery. The Senior Software Product Manager serves in a strategic as well as a hands-on tactical role with product direction responsibility for the entire product life cycle from product conception, through development, market introduction, support and end of life.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and own the Lucas product portfolio roadmap in support of Lucas growth objectives. Work across key stakeholders internally and externally to prioritize product development work as the business evolves.
• Develop a strong Voice of the Customer (VOC) network and process to guide Lucas decisions on product and service requirements, competitive differentiation, bundling, pricing, value proposition, and messaging.
• Lead the assessment and business case for new product and service opportunities especially in the area of Machine Learning and AI, to expand Lucas differentiation and opportunities for business growth.
• Experience with rich-client mobile application development targeting Android
• Own the preparation and launch plans for product rollouts including product go-to-market materials, Sales and Marketing enablement, and readiness of customer support.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and practical work experience or internships with C#.NET (or other OOP languages); Angular 6+ experience a bonus

At Lucas, you will be responsible for: designing, developing, documenting, and supporting major components of customer project implementations as well as the next generation of Lucas’ software products. The skilled Software Engineer will be involved, at varying degrees, in the following:

• Designing and developing software using MS Visual Studio, C#, .NET and UI technologies such Angular and HTML5;
• Designing and developing database components and software modules for Lucas’ software products;
• Extending MS Windows services, IIS, and multi-threaded server and mobile client applications;
• Designing and developing host interfaces using various transfer methods (e.g., socket, XML, FTP, JSON etc.);
• Debugging and tuning of applications using Visual Studio, Profiler, and various in-house tools;
• Assisting Lucas’ software services/support team with troubleshooting and developing fixes and enhancements for existing client deployments

At the Senior level:

• Working with Lucas Project Managers and customers to gather requirements as well as Product Managers to build a stronger product offering; working directly with Lucas’ customers to gather requirements and design functional specifications to provide unique solutions that increase efficiency and solve operational challenges;
• Serving sometimes as the technical lead for customer projects, supervising other engineers to meet both internal and external expectations;
• Developing architecture diagrams and software specifications;
• Assisting in the creation of system specifications, systems installations and customer training;
• Coordinating and conducting user testing and training;
• Developing prototypes for R&D evaluation; and
• Evaluating new software tools.

What skills you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline together with a minimum of 3+ years of related practical software engineering experience is required.
• Object-oriented programming (preferably C#.NET) and database skills (preferably SQL Server).
• Experience with Visual Studio, MVC, Angular, Message Queues, and Mobile Applications preferred.
• Commitment to producing high quality, well-designed and flexible applications.
• Solid troubleshooting, analytical, and organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Dedication to collaborative working style and desire to learn and adopt new technologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel occasionally (up to 15% applicable for Tech Leads).

Additional valued experience:

Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or other supply chain software solutions; systems that include mobile devices; Android development; microservices based software.

Sales and Marketing

Lucas Systems is seeking a highly driven, Sr. Sales Account Executive, with a proven track record of over-attainment, to sell sophisticated software solutions into the Distribution (Warehouse) / Manufacturing industries.

Position Description

• Generate new business and grow existing accounts within assigned territory or industries to ensure revenue and sustainable growth targets are met or exceeded
• Conduct and manage the full range of sales activities of cold calling, lead generation, customer discovery sessions, presentations, proposal generation, terms negotiation, and close
• Negotiate and close large, fixed price contracts involving the delivery of software, equipment, and services by presenting innovative solutions to address customer pain points and produce great results for the customer
• Maintain exceptional customer relationships through regular communication pre- through post-implementation to monitor satisfaction and identify add-on sales opportunities
• As a trusted customer advisor, you will communicate an account strategy, including customer footprint, pain points and desired outcomes, to ensure all Lucas resources are leveraged to meet or exceed customer expectations
Work with Engineering/Development to define product improvements and new solutions
• Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, speaking engagements, etc. to remain up-to-date on industry trends and issues impacting the customer base, elevate personal knowledge, and contribute to Lucas’ strategic growth plan and product roadmap

Qualifications

• Seasoned professional with proven track record of successfully selling into Distribution (Warehouse) / Manufacturing industries and large software / solution systems sales at the VP level or higher (This must be demonstrated as a part of the interview process)
• Minimum of five (5) years solution-based sales with a strong understanding of software. Significant earning potential for more seasoned Account Exec.
• Demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding sales quota
BS in Marketing/Communications, Logistics, Computer Science, Engineering or significant and relevant work experience in addition to a different degree
• Ability to travel as needed to conduct sales activities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Background in distribution, logistics or manufacturing (preferred)
