Leadership

Lucas Systems is currently seeking a Chief People Officer with experience in building world class culture in a growing and profitable technology company. Reporting to the CEO, this is a new, highly influential role requiring a thought leader, advisor, and business partner to the senior leadership. The Chief People Officer is responsible for developing and administering programs to help Lucas achieve its growth goals by attracting and retaining the best talent.

Lucas is seeking a visionary and thought leader to help drive high growth and profitability with cutting edge supply chain software products and technologies. The CTO reports to the CEO and is a key executive member of the senior leadership team responsible for overall company strategy and direction.

 

Responsibilities

  • Own complete lifecycle of new software products and associated technologies, from ideation, to creation, to full productization, plus ongoing enhancements.
  • By staying abreast of technology trends and offerings, the market space in which Lucas operates, and emerging customer needs, bring thought-leading innovation, technologies, and functionality to Lucas software products.
  • Synthesize technology, customer, market, and strategy to develop and own a multi-year product roadmap.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to the heads of new products engineering, data science research and development, and QA/DevOps, ensuring on-time delivery of high quality, innovative products.

The Product Development team at Lucas Systems is inviting applications for Software Engineers to join our rapidly growing development team.  Our AI based Jennifer™ solution optimizes and orchestrates warehouse operations to reduce labor costs, improve accuracy, and increase throughput for our customers across multiple industries, large and small.

As a software engineer on the Product Development team, you will design and develop the next generation of Lucas’ software products while working in a highly collaborative, agile environment.  A software engineer will work with multiple technologies across our full stack such as Voice Recognition, AI, Microservices, front-end applications and DevOps to evolve the Lucas platform.

As technical leader, the software engineer will work with other development teams (i.e., customer Project team members, Data Science, DevOps etc.) to understand requirements, develop cutting edge solutions, and scale for the ever-increasing demand on the supply chain and for warehouse optimization solutions.

The Solution Consultant at Lucas Systems plays an integral role on our team by working directly with customers to identify opportunities to optimize their workflow and better engage their employees resulting in higher productivity, accuracy and service levels.

Working with our Sales team and our Lead Engineers, the Solution Consultant participates in sales discovery, creates a solution design, and develops the business case (ROI) to communicate the potential value and impact of the Lucas solution. They then work with the Commercial Software Project Managers and Lead Engineers to ensure the solution requirements and customer expectations are communicated and effectively addressed in the functional design and specifications of the solution. Post project execution, the Solution Consultant speaks to customer results and opportunities for internal and external continuous improvement.

The Applied Scientist – Speech Recognition will be responsible for:

  • Working with 3rd party speech recognition vendor to optimize performance of our speech platform
  • Staying up to date on speech recognition research to ensure the Lucas Speech Platform offers the best customer experience possible
  • Applying data science techniques and digging into weaknesses to analyze system performance of our current ASR models, in order to identify further areas for improvement
  • Working with product development team members to bring to market high integrity, analytic solutions that align with organizational and revenue goals
  • Applying a range of NLP methods in practical application, as well as developing NLP components: writing rules, building grammars/FSTs, creating annotation systems or mappings for the target language
  • Being the resident advisor to cross-functional teams with regard to analysis, insights and statistical methodologies. Clearly articulating the same to a wider audience as well (e.g., presenting at trade shows, writing white papers and blogs, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Computational Linguistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent in a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience using Python, C/C++, Java, and SQL or other programming languages
  • 2+ years of experience working with speech recognition toolkits (such as HTK, Kaldi, SRILM, OpenFST, or equivalent proprietary systems)
  • Strong knowledge of ASR concepts and research trends
  • Bias toward action. Do what it takes to ramp up and solve problems quickly. Ability to synthesize large amounts of data to make informed decisions and act on them.

  • Speech recognition and speech synthesis (TTS) research or development experience (speech recognition accuracy evaluations, use of APIs and/or tuning of speech recognition systems like CMU SPHINX and Nuance VoCon 3200, etc.)

As Manager of the Project Management Office at Lucas Systems, you will own the P&L responsibility for all customer-facing projects and be responsible for a team of project managers who successfully manage software/process improvement projects from pre- through post-implementation. You will be directly responsible for ongoing continuous improvement and work across the organization to drive change to achieve our vision of ongoing program management within Lucas’ customer base.

This is a hands-on position involving day-to-day management of projects alongside your team a percentage of the time. Our project managers work across the Lucas team of experts and directly with a diverse customer base, including Fortune 50 accounts. As the primary point of contact for the customer, Project Managers are responsible for reporting status and on-going nurturing of relationships in support of business expansion goals.

Position Responsibilities:

  • P&L responsibility of all customer-facing projects at Lucas, which includes change management/negotiations, invoice management, etc.
  • Manage and motivate team of project managers to ensure best practices in project management are followed as well as meeting business objectives related to our measures of a successful project that include: customer results, customer experience, Lucas experience, and Lucas results.
  • Develop project requirements, including participation in planning and design sessions with customers and Lucas engineering teams to determine the functional scope and deliverables of each project.
  • Highlight and drive continuous improvements to processes and KPIs related to project management team and on-going customer experience with our software.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer communications during project execution, throughout and after system installation. Manage customer expectations, project scope and risks.
  • Develop and communicate the project strategy and plan needed to achieve the project deliverables with the software team; proactively lead internal team members to deliver on customer requirements on time and within budget; identify potential risks and take actions to mitigate same; track all issues and action items to closure.
  • Travel to customer sites as necessary during planning, execution, and implementation phases; maintain exceptional implementation customer relationships through regular communications to monitor satisfaction and identify add-on sales opportunities; U.S. travel requirement is approximately 25% overall.
  • Proactively develop and maintain customer relationships including nurturing executive relationships; work directly with the customer success organization to support business expansion, visiting operational sites as appropriate and engaging at a leadership level to address any customer escalations as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Minimum 5+ years of managerial experience as a Project Manager or Implementation Consultant in software, preferably for a growing company

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to relate to both high-level IT and operations managers, executives and end users
  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing improvements to processes and projects
  • Knowledge of hardware devices, interface protocols, databases, and client/server applications required

As a Senior Test Engineer at Lucas, you are the voice of the customer, assuring we do what is necessary to deliver a quality product. Working with the project team and functional management, you determine test objectives, resources, and manual and automated test strategies for the project as well as the adoption of QA Tools in line with QA Goals.

Position Summary

 Reporting to the CMO, the Alliances Manager will be an integral part of Lucas’s growth strategy. This role has the opportunity to make a large and long-term impact to create new commercial channels for revenue and customer expansion. The role has highly visibility and is an incredible opportunity for the right individual to expand their experiences working across the warehouse automation ecosystem.

You will plan and execute partnership development strategies consistent with the Lucas overall growth strategy. Partnership scope includes warehouse robotics companies, warehouse management software companies, and warehouse consultants and system integrators. You will lead in a variety of channel building activities such as facilitating relationship at multiple levels in both organizations, joint marketing programs, customer deal engagement with the Lucas and Partner Sales team, and partner communications activities. This role has a strong dotted line relationship to Lucas Head of Sales.

The right fit for this role is a self-directed, goal-driven, and market-oriented individual, comfortable with accountability for owning partner revenue and deal targets. Travel to meet with Partners, participate in joint market events, and some customer related travel is required and expected up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Own the channel strategy and evolution of that plan as the warehouse automation ecosystem evolves
  • Research and source new partners and develop commercial relationships beneficial to both parties
  • Nurture partner relationships and connect key Lucas employees with partnering organizations
  • Drive communications such as newsletters and emails, leveraging the Marketing team to keep partners informed and motivated to work with Lucas on opportunities
  • Lead the development of partner-specific collateral and materials to support education and sales cycles
  • Support Lucas/ partner deal engagements by working with Lucas sales team members on partner-specific deals
  • Build joint go-to-market plans with specific strategic partners

Skills and Experience

  • BA or BS degree, MBA preferred, with 3 plus years’ experience in Sales, Business Development, or Alliance Management
  • Strong commercial acumen to negotiate agreements and set up working arrangements with partners
  • Experience in supply chain software or warehousing is a plus
  • Good networker and facilitator of relationship building
  • Strong writing skills and ability to assemble content to support partner education and commercial activities

Lucas Systems is seeking a highly driven, Senior Director, Customer Success, with a proven track record of over-attainment, to be responsible for the development, management, transformation, and overall performance of Lucas’ Customer Success program. This includes our Customer Success Services team who provide support to Lucas’ global customer base, ensuring the optimal performance, use, and overall positive customer experience of Lucas’ software solutions.

Our approach to Customer Success Services is a key differentiator in the marketplace. The Customer Success Services team is not a Call Center. The team is comprised of software engineers who not only have a passion for customer care, but also the technical capability to resolve complex software issues and develop and deploy software enhancements. The team generates a significant percentage of revenue and profit for the Company and interacts with our customers the most alongside our Customer Success Managers. This position interacts with external customers, from end users to senior executives, along with a number of internal business units, including Software Engineering, Project Management, and Sales.

Position Description

  • Manage a multi-million dollar P&L for existing customers including the Customer Success Management and Customer Success Services teams.
  • Set the vision and strategic execution of Lucas’s Customer Success program; drive existing business expansion, upgrades, and enhancement revenue; reduce customer churn through achievement of excellent customer satisfaction and reference-ability; and drive operational improvements as measured through departmental KPIs.
  • Work with the Customer Success Services leadership to establish and monitor team goals/metrics of the group to ensure achievement of customer satisfaction levels, customer value, and process compliance.
  • Work with the Customer Success Managers to ensure best practices in business development are followed as well as meeting business objectives related to account planning, master customer data management, and proactive customer outreach.
  • Engage at a leadership level to address customer escalations, sales strategy, and orchestrate resources across the company as appropriate.
  • Proactively develop and maintain customer relationships including nurturing executive relationships, visiting operational sites as appropriate, benchmarking best practices and analyzing information to facilitate Customer Success effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Continuously learn and build domain expertise in distribution and supply chain as well as Lucas technical expertise to be able to relate to and establish credibility with our customers at all levels of their organization.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Marketing/Communications, Logistics, Computer Science, or Engineering is required. MBA preferred, along with significant and relevant work experience • Minimum 5+ years of managerial experience in customer success, enterprise sales, and/or software technical support, preferably for a growing company
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to relate to both high-level IT and operations managers, executives and end users
  • Influential management presence and leadership ability, with communication and interpersonal skills that inspire and motivate leaders and teams

Lucas Systems is seeking a highly driven, Customer Success Manager, with a proven track record of over-attainment, to develop and maintain existing business accounts that utilize Lucas’ sophisticated software solutions within the Distribution (Warehouse) / Manufacturing industries.

Position Description

  • Grow assigned existing accounts to ensure revenue and sustainable growth targets are met or exceeded.
  • Sustain customer success standards of customer outreach, at business review meetings, site visits, generating and following up on calls to action.
  • Responsible for driving customer outreach through use of technology (e.g., campaigns, emails, digital engagement) as well as traditional communications.
  • Organize account planning, identifying business expansion opportunities, and orchestrating resources across the organization in support of customer account development, retention and expansion goals.
  • Maintain a system of record inclusive of communications, meetings, customer contacts, and related customer master data in Salesforce.
  • Maintain exceptional customer relationships and build new ones “up and wide” across customer organization through regular post-implementation communication to monitor satisfaction and identify add-on sales opportunities.
  • Conduct and manage the full range of business development activities of outreach, lead generation, customer discovery sessions, presentations, proposal generation, terms negotiation, and close.
  • Negotiate and close large, fixed price contracts involving the delivery of software, equipment, and services by presenting innovative solutions to address customer pain points and produce great results for the customer.
  • As a trusted customer advisor, you will communicate an account strategy, including customer footprint, pain points and desired outcomes, to ensure all Lucas resources are leveraged to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Work with Engineering/Development to define product improvements and new solutions.
  • Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, speaking engagements, etc. to remain up-to-date on industry trends and issues impacting the customer base, elevate personal knowledge, and contribute to Lucas’ strategic growth plan and product roadmap.

 

Qualifications

  • Seasoned professional with proven track record of successfully maintaining existing accounts and/or selling into Distribution (Warehouse) / Manufacturing industries and large software / solution systems sales at the VP level or higher. (This must be demonstrated as a part of the interview process.
  • Minimum of three (3) years solution-based sales with a strong understanding of software.
  • BS in Marketing/Communications, Logistics, Computer Science, Engineering or significant and relevant work experience in addition to a different degree.
  • Ability to travel as needed to conduct business activities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Background in distribution, logistics or manufacturing is preferred.
