The Solution Consultant at Lucas Systems plays an integral role on our team by working directly with customers to identify opportunities to optimize their workflow and better engage their employees resulting in higher productivity, accuracy and service levels.

Working with our Sales team and our Lead Engineers, the Solution Consultant participates in sales discovery, creates a solution design, and develops the business case (ROI) to communicate the potential value and impact of the Lucas solution.   • Develop a proposal management process to initiate and track the status of all proposals and proposal inputs as needed from other departments, such as engineering estimates, to ensure that proposals are completed in a timely and responsive manner for each customer. This also includes maintaining version control and ensuring all stakeholders are kept up-to-date on the status and proactively initiating any required follow-up.
  • As appropriate and needed for certain proposals, schedule and facilitate “strategy” sessions with cross functional leadership to ensure that win strategies (i.e., how to best position and message the company, products, etc.), customer requirement analysis, competitor assessments, risk mitigation and pricing-to-win analysis are addressed.
  • Review and edit technical submissions from subject matter experts to incorporate narrative into appropriate proposal responses.
  • Initially develop and setup, then manage and maintain a content library for proposals, presentations and RFP responses in which sections or “modules” of content are stored and can be re-used to more efficiently “assemble” proposals by leveraging existing content, yet creating proposals that look and feel tailored to each customer. As those modules are improved and modified, ensure that the library is updated accordingly.
  • Write the proposal, ensuring consistent style and tone, including all components received from others. Validate grammar and syntax of the final document, re-writing to clarify and simplify text as needed.
  • Maintain the Product Pricing Templates including regularly confirming vendor pricing and adding new hardware and associated accessories as they are certified.
  • Monitor the Certified Device Catalogs and Server Specifications to ensure that they are up to date and distributed accordingly. When necessary, request updated documents from the appropriate department (Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering).
  • Input and manage the Deal Registration process on behalf of the sales team, including associated customer contract pricing adjustments and vendor financial obligations.
  • As appropriate for certain verticals and/or product offerings, create standard proposals that can be re-used in their majority.
  • Manage and lead proposal reviews and perform proposal lessons learned.

Requirements:

  • BS or BA in marketing, communications, business or related field
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience generating persuasive content, ideally technical in nature, for sales purposes
  • Prior experience coordinating and editing input from a variety of sources to produce a single document with consistent messaging and tone
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, at a senior level
  • Proven ability to deliver professionally produced proposals and presentations within agreed upon customer timeframes
  • Prior document template management experience
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
