CDN Canada Recognizes Lucas Systems and Qdata for Jennifer VoicePlus Solution Implemented at Longo Brothers Fruit Market, a Leading Regional Grocery Chain in Ontario

CDN, a leading IT industry publication that is part of ComputerWorld Canada, recognized Lucas and qdata for an innovative Jennifer™ VoicePlus system delivered this year to Longo’s, a major Canadian grocery chain based in Toronto. Within eight weeks of implementing Jennifer, order selection productivity at the Longo’s DC increased 14%, with significant reductions in selection errors and improved inventory accuracy.

The Lucas-qdata solution at Longo’s includes the RF Plus™ warehouse management system from qdata, and the Jennifer™ VoicePlus system from Lucas running on Motorola MC9000 and WT4000 RF terminals. Among other innovations, the Jennifer system allows order selectors at Longo’s to capture the weight of the products they are picking by scanning a barcode on product cases. The Jennifer system communicates in real-time to the RF Plus system, which supports efficient, effective RF-based inventory control processes throughout the Longo’s DCs.
