RedPrairie And Lucas Team Up
RedPrairie to Resell Jennifer™ VoicePlus to New and Existing RedPrairie Customers, Leveraging Open, Industry Standard Mobile Devices
Lucas Systems, Inc., the leading provider of voice-directed warehouse applications for open, mobile computers, today announced that it has entered into a reseller agreement with RedPrairie, a leading provider of warehouse management systems. Under the agreement, RedPrairie will resell Jennifer VoicePlus applications that help maximize the productivity and accuracy of picking and other warehouse activities working in concert with RedPrairie Warehouse Management solutions. Jennifer is already installed with a RedPrairie WMS at OM HealthCare Logistics, an Owens & Minor business unit and an innovative healthcare third-party logistics (3PL) provider.
“Voice picking is an increasingly important tool for retailers, wholesale distributors, and a range of other companies with large-scale warehouse and distribution operations,” says Gary Morgan, Vice President of Technology and Innovation for RedPrairie. “With Jennifer VoicePlus, RedPrairie WMS customers will get the full productivity and accuracy advantages of next-generation voice recognition technology running on industry standard hardware devices. In addition to providing maximum operations benefit when adding voice to a WMS, we are also able to drive a lower total cost of ownership by using the same mobile hardware for voice-directed and non-voice RF tasks.”
Jennifer VoicePlus is the first voice application to use voice and scanning interchangeably in a single application, to interleave voice-picking with other tasks, and to run on standard mobile computing devices that can be used in non-voice processes. Under this reseller agreement, Lucas Systems and RedPrairie have designed a standard interface that allows Jennifer to interact directly with the RedPrairie WMS, allowing companies to rapidly deploy voice-optimized WMS applications. Jennifer, by Lucas, is the leading hardware-independent voice solution in North America, with tens of thousands of users at hundreds of DCs.
“We are pleased to be teaming up with RedPrairie, which already offers the most comprehensive warehouse management system on the market,” says Chris Sweeney, SVP of Lucas Systems. “Jennifer VoicePlus adds powerful new voice-plus capabilities for users on the warehouse floor, while giving managers the flexibility to optimize voice-picking and other workflows through RedPrairie. The combination of RedPrairie WMS and Jennifer VoicePlus sets a new standard for voice-directed warehouse functionality.”
